Wedding photography for low-key, fun-loving couples who are a touch quirky and a teensy bit offbeat.
Feel your wedding day through your photos.
Your wedding might be a fabulous Inn or Bed & Breakfast nestled in beauty outside the city, a boutique hotel with creaky and uneven floors in the heart of Old Montreal, or a meaningful family cottage or residence. You value a feeling of intimacy and privacy. Your focus is on family and close friends and you may opt for an overnight or weekend getaway - a retreat wedding.
Lucy Baum Montreal Wedding PhotographyYour personalities may be subtle, but your love speaks louder than words. Taking a moment during their brunch wedding to relax on the expansive steps of uber-chic Chateau St-Ambroise, historic factory turned into lofts and creative spaces.
A large-scale affair with lots of moving parts to coordinate is not your thing. Preferring understated attention, you want your wedding to allow you to be part of the group, rather than on display. While personal touches are important, your wedding decor is mostly derived from the inherent beauty of your venue. Above all else, you value the experience of celebration with those you love, with an unfussy and relaxed vibe where you can fully be your weird and wonderful selves, whatever that may be.

A wedding where the couple and guests relish a peaceful and fun-loving atmosphere allows me to do my best work. I seek to understand your vibe and find thoughtful, creative, and quirky ways to reflect that back to you through images. This includes capturing noteworthy details of the venue and even the region where your event takes place, anchoring your wedding story with a time and place. I want you to be able to feel your photos, visually.

Understanding that as a couple you tend to be low key and shy away from spotlight, I've refined my photographic style to be relaxed and subtle, but with touches of humour, silliness and camaraderie. Those who imagined an in-your-face paparazzi-style shoot with awkward poses are fully reassured that it's the opposite of my style, and mention afterwards how easy and natural the experience was.

Commemorate your wedding story with a printed album. My signature collection features 2 album sizes (15x10 and 12x8) with layflat seamless spine, thick pages and choice of colours for the linen covers. Clean and modern, albums start at 20 pages and all the design work is included in your package.
When I was married, it was important to have a wedding that reflected myself and my husband; eclectic but beautiful, refined with touches of rustic charm and nostalgia. We found 100 year- old Penryn Mansion in Port Hope and knew it fit. We had an hors d'oeuvres wedding and our guests raved about the food and were stuffed. The mansion had smaller rooms. The staff had to clear the main eating area that was doubling as the dance floor earlier than anticipated because my crowd started dancing between the tables! My centrepieces were oversized brandy glasses with single, floating candles, but at my head table I subbed the candle for a goldfish! (Don't worry, it was re-homed after the event!). A bright, yellow school bus shuttled overnight guests to and from the local hotel and during the trip, my husband's Swedish relatives (who came such a long way!) taught people Swedish drinking songs during the ride! No elaborate setups, uninspiring halls, or extended family/friend guests that I didn't even know. It was such a memorable experience that our friends still refer to it to this day. My absolute joy from start to finish of my own wedding has inspired me to seek kindred spirits in couples who share my beliefs. That connection is how your wedding photography will be elevated to a place where magic happens.
