Although no one can predict what kind of spring will be coming (and hopefully sooner than later!), we were all pretty surprised that on this early May weekend of 2015, we would be dealing with a heat wave. The days leading up to Christine and Jonathan's wedding, it was so hot (I mean, over 30 degrees hot!) that many of the trees and shrubs at Parc Jean Drapeau blossomed quickly. Where we initially thought we may have stark branches to deal with, instead we had the lush and gentle greens associated with a budding spring.
We seemed to be following a trend. We shot Christine and Jonathan's engagement photos at Angrignon park in late October of 2014, and it was so warm we left our jackets in the car!
So good weather fortune followed these 2. And it's kind of no surprise, as they were one of the warmest couple's I've had the pleasure of working with. Not only that, but they were jokers, pranksters, superheroes, and full of surprisers. Christine's sisters surprised them during the ceremony with a lovely and harmonized medley of Disney show tunes (not a dry eye I tell you), and in turn, Christine and Jonathan surprised all their wedding guests with a choreographed routine during their first dance of...guess what....a medley of Disney show tunes!!! Great minds think alike is what I think was going on here!
It was a great time from start to finish. Lots of laughter, an equal amount of tears, and the beautiful scenery to go along with a beautifully- planned wedding. The love overflowed, as well as the jokes! And although I got caught (running to my car for some equipment) in a downpour of the thunderstorm that passed just as we settled inside for the reception, I was smart enough to bring a change of clothes and shoes, and prepared myself for an evening of celebration! Here are the highlights, and thanks as always to my second shooter extraordinaire, Deepti. My fave of hers are Jonathan's armchair shots!
